Helllooooooo loves!
Happy Sunday, tomorrow we
start the Michelle Bridges 12-week transformation course. We need to run to the
grocery store this afternoon to grab some food to get us started. We are really
excited. I will blog my progress on the program over the next few weeks. If you
are looking for a way to tune up or detox and lose a few kilos you should join the Michelle Bridges 12-week course, it has promised some great
outcomes. Its all about healthy eating and exercise its all about doing things
the sensible way. No starving yourself, or shakes or anything silly. Michelle
teaches you how to cook healthy meals and how to exercise to lose weight. I am
ready to go!
Lately I have been
contemplating the future of my blog….
After much deliberation I am going
to start doing reviews of brands/online stores and clothing, I am also going to
start discussing trends or styles.
I recently read a blogger
talk about how she cleaned out her wardrobe and she left herself 10 items to
wear. I’m all for organisation but having 3 outfits to wear on rotation is not
cool. I really believe variety is the spice of life. There are people at work
who have their ‘Monday outfit on’ or their ‘Friday outfit on.’
Wearing the same
thing over and over doesn’t appeal to me at all and I really believe you don’t
need to spend much to look good or have a wardrobe with variety.
You just need to have a
keen eye for finding good items and you need to be able to style items in
different ways. Before I buy anything I think of 4 ways I can wear the item. If
I cant think of 4 different ways to wear the item I don’t buy it.
I find this method really
pushes me to look at different ways to wear things I own and I also make sure
my future outfits are well thought out.
To me, the foundation of an
awesome wardrobe is based around some investment pieces such as a good pair of
jeans, a great leather jacket, a leather skirt and some great ankle boots (to
name a few).
Followed by some outstanding basics such as white/black t-shirts, black
singlets, a stripy top and so on.
Next are some on trend items there are some
awesome trends at the moment such as geometric or tattoo prints, coloured
leather, sequins and sparkles, cherry red, lace, animal print and floral
prints. I make sure I purchase a variety of trend items across cheaper price
points, the reason I buy cheaper items is because most trend items have a short
lifecycle. If I know the trend is going to hang around I am more inclined to
spend a little more on the item/s.
Lastly, some highly
necessary items to finishing my look are based around how I make myself up,
things like a polished face with a high quality foundation, contouring and
brightening the face, neat eyebrows, bold coloured lips such as pinks, reds and
oranges (orange is hot at the moment) make a really big difference to an outfit. An outfit goes from average to awesome with an appropriately made up face. I am also a really big fan of polished
nails, having my nails painted really finishes my look. I love reds,
oranges, blacks and pinks.
The items I cannot live
without are:
- a pair of
leather pants (from Sportsgirl)
- a white t-shirt
(from Sportsgirl)
- coloured jackets
I have 3 I am obsessed with….a black jacket with shiny embellishments, a white
jacket with black embellishments, a grey jacket with black embellishments, (all from ASOS)
- tan leather
jacket (thrifted/op-shopped)
- big necklaces (Sportsgirl) In my opinion Sportsgirl is the best for necklaces at the moment.
Some pictures below show some of my favourite items mentioned above.
Well that’s my thoughts on what
items are highly necessary to ensuring I look stylish each and everyday.
I would love to hear your
thoughts on what is in your wardrobe, what are the items you cannot live
without?
